On July 1, I found myself sitting in Dr. Nisha Meyer’s studio getting the royal recovery treatment. And it was heaven: A little massage on my tough spots, followed by some cupping pressure here, some dry heat in the infrared sauna there, and finishing it off with a tight squeeze from the Normatec boots. It got me right! For those of you who don’t know Nisha, she is my physical therapist (PT, DPT). She is up on all of the latest and greatest tools and techniques in her industry. I know I stink when it comes to rest days and have a lot to learn, so I felt like sitting down with Nisha was the best place for me to start.

Let’s jump right in because there is soooooo much good stuff on sale that I want to share with you.

Since I am still locked in my quarantine room (yep, day 10), I had plenty of time to sift through all the discounted goodies. Since the blog is just an extension of my life, it makes sense to do a little piece on working out while away. I’m all about balance so I do plan to workout a little, but I will definitely be taking advantage of the ability to sleep in and relax. I can’t remember the last time that was a possibility for me. What’s a vacation (especially, a kid-less vacation) without a little restoration and relaxation for the mind and body?

I have spent some time in the store, online and trying on the activewear and athleisure that is part of this sale to help make your shopping easier. No, I am not keeping everything you have seen on me! It’s called editing, people. And, I like to think that I’m pretty good at it. So here is what I am keeping, and what I am already enjoying.

It’s time for the kiddies to shop the N Sale. This sale is a great time for kids to stock up on basics like underwear and socks, sneakers for their continuously growing feet and everyday clothes for the upcoming school year. The uniform of the little ones tends to be more athleisure and activewear focused. These little humans demand clothes that keep up with their non-stop lives.

I’m blogging in my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale shopping priority order. After I get all of the stuff I want, I turn to the rest of my family. And I am moving onto my husband next. This year, the selection of men’s activewear on sale may even be better than the ladies’. It was easy to get a bunch of great fitness and golf pieces (that can also be worn for casual work days, or days that involve “working” on the golf course).

Zella is Nordstrom’s activewear and athleisure brand that is worthy of it’s own post simply because the price is jaw dropping when its on sale. Bra’s are $20. Leggings are in the $30’s. For basic activewear, Zella is your brand.

I’ve been resting up. Hydrating. Carb loading. Updating my Wish List. Training, really … to be fully prepared for the biggest shopping day of the year. Nordstrom Icons got to shop two days ago. But now it’s my turn. The fashion baton has been passed from the big time fashion bloggers to little old me to cover fitness and athleisure. Guess what— there is tons of fitness and athleisure inventory in store and online. And I am going to go through it all with you for the next few weeks so that you are ready to shop when it’s your turn.

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, hands down, is the biggest sale of the year. I am so excited to cover it and share all things fitness that are part of the sale. Earlier this week, the sale preview became available to everyone online. Here are my top picks that I will be adding to my cart as soon as I get access to shop the sale.

When I decided to document my re-entry into working out outside of my home gym, I could never have predicted what this experience would mean to me. Yes, I got to see what each studio was doing to safely bring members back. Yes, I got to take a bunch of really awesome classes. But I never imagined all of the incredibly talented people I would meet … All of the new friends I would make along the way… All of the stories of struggle and growth that I would hear… And all of the support that I would gain from followers cheering me along.

It has really been something to see ALL of these businesses that have decided to take fitness outside to make things work during Covid. Some studio owners have recently decided to continue to use these outdoor spaces, while others have returned inside. During my 30-day studio tour in June, I wanted to take as many of these outdoor classes as I could. One, because I love to be outside, especially after the long and cold winter we just had. And two, because I still feel the safest outside.

When I first connected with Liz Dipre, the owner of Aqua Vida, it was because she was the only traveling stand up paddle board person in the area. I had been tasked to plan our club’s pool entertainment and SUP seemed like a good crowd pleaser. But I have come to learn that Aqua Vida is so much more than these cool paddle classes, and I want to share this incredible company with you all.

Next week, I’ll be doing stand up paddle board yoga. This got me thinking that the bathing suits I own are not going to cut it for this class. If I don’t want to give everyone a show, I need to get some new sporty swimsuits that have more coverage and support. So I headed over to the Athleta in Bryn Mawr to try on some new, more athletic suits.
