Sporty Swimsuit Try On Session at Athleta in Bryn Mawr.

Next week, I’ll be doing stand up paddle board yoga. I am so excited, even though I have no clue what I am doing. But you know me, I love to try new things. Especially now that I have an audience supporting me and eager to hear the results! Thanks guys. Your support has been incredible. So this got me thinking that the bathing suits I own are not going to cut it for this class. If I don’t want to give everyone a show, I need to get some new sporty swimsuits that have more coverage and support.

So I headed over to the Athleta in Bryn Mawr to try on some new, more athletic suits. They have a great in-store selection. Athleta swimwear is made really well. They fit great. They cover what you want to be covered. And the price point is decent for the quality. Here are some of my favorites for my upcoming class, as well as all the poolside lounging I plan to do this summer. (Jk… I have a two year old).

The goal of my try on session is to a find a swimsuit that is cute, comfortable and allows me to move freely without anything peeking out. Athleta always has suits that are stylish and provide good all around coverage. It’s really hard to find full coverage for the booty lately. Am I right? Not everyone wants a cheeky suit while chasing the kids around the pool. The Athleta bottoms consistently provide great coverage for the bum. That’s why I love them. They have a bunch of bottoms with various levels of coverage. And I love that you can always buy the swim tops and bottoms separately. Almost every suit comes with tons of options so you can mix and match and find what works best for you.

The first suit I tried on is the Maldives Printed Bikini Top in Tahiti Aruba Teal and the Clean Medium Printed Bikini Bottom.

I love the quote printed on the mirror in this store. I am putting this on every mirror in my house.

What I love about this suit is the high neckline. When you do yoga or pilates or anything that has you on your stomach a lot, you want a higher neckline so that the girls aren’t spilling out. I particularly love the sizing of this bathing suit top. It’s not just small, medium or large but a bunch of the Athleta suits come in cup sizes. I am wearing the 34 B/C which is my true to size. I feel totally secure in this top. The bottom is a little tiny for yoga but it’s easy to throw a board short over the bottom for the class. Athleta even has a board short in teal to match. I am wearing a size small in the bikini bottoms. I am typically a medium in other bathing suit bottoms (in some brands, I am even a large) so I do think Athleta swimsuits tend to run big.

I love the color and print of this suit too. Beyond the SUP yoga class, I will be living in this bathing suit all summer.

The next suit I tried on is the Malibu Printed Bikini Top and the Malibu Printed Boyshort.

This suit is a very comfortable, sporty option. I feel totally secure in both the top and the bottom. What’s really cool about this particular top is that it comes in two cup options: A/C or D/DD, and within those two options, there are sizes XXS-XL available. Talk about ALL inclusive— I just love it! I am wearing the size A/C, Small. Again, I usually go for a medium so size down in this suit.

The bottom is a boy short that is more flattering than other brands of boy shorts that I have tried. It doesn’t squeeze your tush in a weird and unflattering way. And I could totally do yoga in these bottoms because there is a nice amount of booty coverage. If you like this print and want to try a paddle suit- you are in luck! I am wearing a small in the bottom, which is offered in sizes XXS-XL.

This next suit is probably my favorite of the bunch. In the picture below, I am wearing the Freestyle Camo Bikini Top and the Freestyle Camo Surge Short.

I wouldn’t recommend this style top for the larger chested women while doing yoga, but I think my smaller cup size can pull it off. The low neckline of this suit is one of Athleta’s skimpier swim tops. But I find it to be a flattering, sporty cut. The fit of the top is secure and snug without being tight so I will be totally fine for yoga. And check out the back, with a pop of neon yellow, in the pic below. I am wearing a size medium in this top.

I paired it with these swim shorts for the class. They are so cute and comfortable that I would definitely wear them in the pool or beach on non-yoga days.

I am also grabbing the Freestyle Camo Medium Bikini Bottom in a size small for pool days that I don’t feel like wearing the shorts. I love all 3 pieces of this suit for my SUP yoga class and beyond. But wait, there is more…

Athleta makes these awesome swim shirts that provide full coverage and sun protection but still look so stylish and fun. So if last minute I decide that the low cut bikini top isn’t gonna fly for class, I can just throw on this cute tank. The Pacifica Illume UPF Fitted Tank comes in tons of colors and sizes from XXS-3X. I am wearing a size XS for a more fitted look.

I also love the short sleeve version of this swim shirt. And, even better, the Pacifica Illume UPF Fitted Tee is on sale in this Muted Lilac color. Another great option with my camo set.

I had to include a full piece in this session although I don’t always have luck with full pieces. My torso is very long so the fit is never quite right. That being said, this suit fits great.

This full piece bathing suit is the Maldives One Piece Swimsuit. Like the first teal two-piece suit that I had on, the high neckline is great for yoga and all of those downward facing dogs. And amazingly, the fit is long enough for me. It just has a nice amount of stretch and will work on all different body types. The back is oh so pretty. You can’t go wrong with a flattering basic black swimsuit. If I wanted to, I could even throw my camo shorts on over this for a complete yoga-friendly covered look.

If you want to purchase any of Athleta’s swimsuits, head on over to the King of Prussia store and mention my name or this post and you will receive $15 off your purchase. While the King of Prussia store does not carry swim this year, they do have the UPF swim shirts and some board shorts. They can help you with sizing and placing an order online with the coupon. Or you can use the coupon at the Bryn Mawr store.

So it looks like I am all set for my upcoming SUP yoga class. Now my only problem is figuring out which of these adorable, sporty suits to wear! I might just have to sign up for more than one class…
