What I Am Keeping from The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (just in time- the sale opens to the public in a few hours).

EVERYONE can finally shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale in just a few hours (3:00 am EST if you want to be the first to shop online. Stores open at 10:00 am)! I have spent some time in the store, online and trying on the activewear and athleisure that is part of this sale to help make your shopping easier.

No, I am not keeping everything you have seen on me! It’s called editing, people. And, I like to think that I’m pretty good at it. This sale is probably the best for basics, like socks, underwear and sneakers. But I have also found some special items from the sale this year that I am not going to part with. So here is what I am keeping, and what I am already enjoying.

Beyond Yoga is my favorite Fitness Find brand from the sale this year. I use the Anniversary Sale to buy the higher end brands that rarely go on sale. The quality of fitness clothes is way more important than you may initially think. These clothes are washed the most, next to your underwear and socks, right?! And they need to hold up through all of those washes. (BTW, do not throw your activewear in the dryer). Also, your workout clothes need stand up to all the activity you plan to do in them. You can’t be messing with your clothes during a run or a workout. Not when you have a new PR on the line! And third, I am a believer that when you feel good in your clothes, you do better. It’s important to wear clothes that give you that confidence. The higher end brands tend to do all of these things.

I am keeping these two sets from Beyond Yoga. The set above is currently sold out in this color but the other colors have inventory. And I do expect a restock when the sale becomes public. The set below is currently in stock. I love the long line bra tops of both of these sets for more coverage. Both sets work well for now and into the fall so they are pretty practical… and pretty gorgeous. Plus, the colors will have me thinking of the sand and the ocean all year long.

I also am keeping a few pieces from Alo. Biker shorts are having more than a moment and the look is totally growing on me. Most of my readers have started to dig them too (although a few of you are still a hard no— a result of my IG survey from a few weeks ago). While I think they are great in the summer for every kind of exercise that I do— cycling (obviously), running, yoga, pilates, weight training— I also like to wear them around town with an oversized tee or tank. And this is my favorite from the sale. Throw on a crop sweatshirt when the temps begin to drop.

The Spanx Booty Boosting Leggings were one of my top picks of the sale (black is sold out but the link is for the pattern that is still available) … and my readers thought so, too (the result of another IG survey). Leggings are not just for exercising anymore. Leggings are life! And while these may not be my favorite for exercising, they will definitely be replacing the jeans I put on for kid pick-ups, running errands and weekend mornings on the field.

I got overly excited about organized races returning to Philadelphia and signed up for just about every race being offered in the fall. So I will need a lot of running layers. I love the fit, feel and color of this jacket from Sweaty Betty.

Let’s talk fitness accessories because I actually made out pretty well in this department, despite my initial reaction to the selection. First off, these yoga towels! I do a lot of “hot” classes and its nice to lay a towel on the yoga mat to catch all that sweat. And look how pretty. I couldn’t just get one. The set comes with a hand towel, too, which is currently in my tennis bag.

This Slowtide Mauka 2-Piece Yoga & Fitness Towel Bundle is currently sold out, but my “Indigo Sun” (the blue tie dye one seen in the beach photos) is still available.

You can see my previous IG posts all about the white sneakers that are part of the sale and know where I stand on this. I love this pair from Nike because I can work out in them and look how cute they look on the street with the biker shorts.

And, this bag above is such a fun variation of the regular back pack. I think its the perfect gym bag because it can fit a water bottle, a small towel, a phone and keys. I find that lately I just loosely carry these things into the studio so I am happy to finally find a small bag for my necessities.

And for the days I just need my phone and keys, how cute is this little bag from Rag and Bone?!

So there it is. My final NSale 2021 post. Remember, prices go back up on August 8. Happy shopping.
