Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2022 Dressing- Room Pics and Picks

I love that I get to focus on the fit clothes for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. For one, it’s much less pressure because while some of the really good stuff (that I will be sharing), will sell out, most won’t right away. I also love focusing on activewear because I think its a category that absolutely should be shopped aggressively during this sale. Yes, I said aggressively. Activewear for some falls into that category where quality matters but it may not be the most exciting thing to spend money on. Although, I beg to differ! During the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, the prices for the high quality, really good stuff is just too good to ignore.

This year, a theme emerged from my try-on session. Color. Every single color was represented in the dressing room yesterday. Yes, even yellow. If you only wear black, you can just get these Spanx Booty Boosting Leggings and close this post. But if you are here for the fun of the rainbow, especially jewel tones, then please read on… or should I say, click on. There is a lot here and a lot to get to so I’m going to just give you sizing information, maybe some brief fit information, and the links so you can shop quickly. Time is not to be wasted with this sale!

First, I grabbed all things Alo because the brand is so good, expensive and rarely goes on sale. And these new colors… gahhh!

I size down in these leggings. I am wearing a small. I am wearing my true to size in the top. It’s a thicker knit that offers medium support, and I would wear a sports bra under it for more high impact use.

I had to get the whole thing in another color because I couldn’t pick a favorite.

These shorts have a great fit. I like to get a medium in the biker short, even though I wear a small in the leggings. They are a bit shorter than the bikers from the sale last year. Again, this color. The top is that same knit, crop tank.

I am wearing a size large in this hoodie, which is more of a super soft sweater. It’s really beautiful. Size up for more of an oversize look.

This skirt goes in my “JUST FOR FUN” section. It’s adorable and flirty and just-for-fun. I am wearing a size small and while it is a bit short on me, I am 5“10’ so most things are short on me. Don’t forget to grab these shoes because they will not last. They are the all-neutral version of a shoe I posted in December that was my all time top seller and is currently sold out. I actually like this all-neutral color palette better than the ones I have, which have some black. Luckily, the sizing of these is women’s sizing so it’s not as confusing. I always size up a half size in Nike.

You can’t go wrong with athleisure from Alo. I am in a size medium, my TTS. This outfit also goes great to mix up with the legging crop combo above. The texture is a velvet rib, so it almost looks like a corduroy.

I’m going to jump to Zella next because there is a lot of Zella (Nordstrom’s fit brand) in the sale. I have sifted through most to bring you my favorites from this year’s offerings. The price of Zella is the best part, especially when it’s on sale, but I am also really loving the styling and fit of these pieces.

I wasn’t lying when I said the theme to this post was color. Shop all of this head turning cobalt blue here. I am in a size small in both the legging and the shirt.

Break up the blue with an ombre legging. Size small legging and medium crop tank.

… or a crop quarter-zip in a size small. That being said, my SIL was with me for part of the day and tried this on in both a medium and a small. I actually liked the medium on her better so I say size up because it’s so cropped.

This jacket completely changed the way I think of Zella. The styling is actually fashion forward, in a feminine, sporty way. I am wearing a size medium in the jacket.

These shorts match. But you can’t really tell with the jacket covering the best part— the waistband.

Don’t hide the shorts with a voluminous top— You don’t want to miss the details of the waistband. I sized up in these shorts to a medium. I also love the bra I am wearing in this picture. I am in a size medium, my TTS.

Wow, Zella. I am majorly impressed again by both this pant and this blazer. Both are sporty and made with more substantial “performance” fabric, but these pieces are not for sport. They are casual, everyday items with a sporty flare. This outfit makes going to that work meeting look and feel a lot cooler. I am in a size small pant and an XS blazer. It runs small.

So you can see the fit of the pants. They have a snug fit but the thick elastic waistband does offer some give.

I am wearing the blazer with a different wide-leg pant from Zella. These are more casual than the pants above. But both can be dressed up or down with the shoes.

A sporty and airy jumpsuit is my summer uniform. This one is great, especially for the price! I am in a size medium. The length works for my tall build. The pants will be longer on my shorter friends.

This is the only outerwear from the sale that I will be sharing because I’m leaving my lane a bit. But, I love a long puffer vest for those moderately cold days. This one also comes in black. I am wearing a medium to fit thick sweaters and sweatshirts under.

Here are a few other picks from fit brand favorites such as Nike, Free People Movement, Sweaty Betty and Outdoor Voices.

I didn’t grab a great dressing room pic in this look so I will be publishing more soon. But I did want to share this one with you now becauseI love the print of these shorts. I am wearing a medium. There is a bra and legging with the same fun, yet neutral print that I ordered online because they were not in the store. And you can't go wrong with a Nike hoodie. I am in a size small sweatshirt. It’s oversized.

I’ve shared these shorts before. I love the fit, the waistband, and the breeziness of the fabric for the hot runs I have to do this summer. There are two colors that are part of the sale- this pattern and this solid. And I got both. They are $20! Do not size down in these and you may even want to size up. I wear a size medium and they are snug. If you are a trail runner, first off, I worship you- I would fall flat on my face if I tried to run 26 miles on all terrain ground. Second of all, you all have some adorable sneakers.

Not every performance short needs to be for running, Brooke! And these wouldn’t work for a run but they are awesome hiking shorts. So for those of you who like to frequent Valley Forge National Park for a hike, these are great. I am in a size medium.

I am not a Sweaty Betty legging fan. I always give them another look but I just really don’t care for them. I don’t love the busy prints and the waist band is heavy in the back that I envision tugging them up during my entire workout. But I do like this long sleeve performance shirt, which is a staple for every runner. I am in a size medium.

My last fit piece for this post has to be this exercise dress because it was my biggest surprise. This is another “JUST FOR FUN” piece from the sale. I posted this dress to my stories yesterday and was quite shocked by your love of the exercise dress. You love it for errands but weren’t so sure about working out in it. And I’ll give you that… for now (I kinda think I will be working out in it in no time). I came up with a bunch of other great uses for this dress so while I left the store without it, I purchased in online when I got home. This is the Outdoor Voices exercise dress. I am in the size medium and the fit is great! A bright pink and this yellow, plus a weird pale peach, are part of the sale. I decided to just go for it! And in neon yellow… yikes! And I’m glad. I don’t expect this one to last, based on your responses to my story!

I do fitness (as my kids like to call it— fitness is used as a noun, verb, adjective and adverb in my house), but I do wear jeans and occasionally, I love to get dressed up. So here are a few of those looks for you, as well. I ordered the Mother jeans I was eyeing that weren’t in the store yesterday, as well as some boots. I’ll share those when they arrive.

Grab this sweater before the price goes back up to $200. It’s a dream and only $129. I am in the size medium.

This is a splurge worthy sweater from Reiss that will go fast, if it’s not already gone. TTS.

Veronica Beard is always a show stopper in this sale and these two pieces do not disappoint. Her stuff runs TTS (size up if unsure or in between). I am in a 6 in the blazer and a 28 in the jeans.

I will leave you with my absolute favorite look of the day. In full disclosure, as much as I loved this outfit, I did not leave the store with it (and it likely won’t be available when I come to my senses and change my mind). I just don’t have a lot of places to wear it. My goal for next year is to workout less and find more fancy places to hang out! jk!

A huge thank you to my stylist for the second year, Darien Exter. Darien is such a pleasure to work with and I cannot imagine having to tackle this sale without her. I send her my wish list ahead of my shopping day and she notifies me what the store has and what I should order online when my access starts. But the best part is that when I arrive at 7 am (you can shop before the store opens if you have a stylist), she has everything on my wish list (plus some great additions from her) beautifully organized in my dressing room. She’s a true shopping gem!

Hope you enjoyed these dressing room selfies. Be sure to check out my IG stories for dressing room videos of some of these!

I'll be back everyday with new fitness (and non-fitness) finds from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.
