Get Softsies and Help Give Back to Nemours Children’s Hospital

Last month, when we were in the hospital with my son for two weeks with severe RSV, my friend bought me and Caleb the cutest and softest pj’s for our return home. I hesitate to even call them pajamas because they are too cute to wear at night only. (I am overwhelmed as I recall how amazing that first night at home with Caleb was… Just to have everyone in the house together again. I had been fantasizing about that very moment for those past two weeks. Caleb and I were snuggled together in our new pajamas feeling cozier and more content than ever before.)

The pajamas are called Softsies. I love the story behind the brand: Natalie Feild was a new mom at the time. Her young daughter was suffering from bad skin dryness and irritation that resulted in a staph infection from all of the itching and rubbing. Natalie came up with the idea to make clothes that helped soothe her baby’s eczema. So she worked tirelessly to create a one-of-a-kind organic fabric that had moisturizers infused in it. Now her baby’s skin could be constantly nourished when she was wearing the clothes made from this unique fabric. She created a product that was of “highest quality, safety and benefit to all children.” The Softsie fabric is infused with Aloe Vera, Jojoba Oil and Vitamin E. (Natalie explains the cool infusion process of creating this unique fabric here). Her daughter began to wear the prototype, and guess what? Yep. Her skin cleared up and she had no more eczema flare-ups! Natalie knew she was on to something really special that millions of parents, like herself, would love. And so Softsie was born.

Sofsties have all the good stuff— they are organic, all-natural, hypoallergenic, fragrance free, nut free, dairy free and vegan. There are no negative ecological, environmental or dermatological properties in these clothes. They are stylish and the prints are so darn cute.

Softsies started as baby clothes and grew into a children’s brand (up to size 10). Recently, Natalie created adult sized clothes from that same fabric because us moms deserve to wear clothes that moisturize and nourish our skin, too!

I am living in this cozy gaiter right now.

When I reached out to Natalie (she actually went to my high school) to order more Softsies, she asked about doing a fundraiser shopping event. It made so much sense given that we had received our Softsies as a hospital recovery gift. So I immediately jumped on board! Here is how it works… from January 26 through January 29, when you purchase Softsies and use the code NEMOURS, Natalie will donate 25% to Nemours Children Hospital. You can shop all the adorable prints here.

I got to pick the charity for this fundraiser and it was just serendipitous. I owe my son’s life to the incredible team of ICU nurses, docs and the respitory therapists at Nemours Children’s Hospital in Delaware. When you spend two weeks on the ICU and your child has one-on-one around the clock care, you become very close to the incredible humans that work there. I will forever give back to this special place that gave my family so much.

In addition to the new toys and books that I have been collecting for the young patients staying at Nemours, I will visit the hospital in February to drop off these donations. So I thank you from the bottom of my heart for contributing to this fundraiser… and getting some adorable Softsies of your own in honor of Caleb.
