The Fitness Finds Holiday Gift Guide for the Guys
Let’s jump right on in with the guys. I’ll be honest, the guy stuff doesn’t usually excite me in the same way as those fitness fashions do for us. I actually totally neglected a guy’s holiday list last year. But this list is really doing it for me. I’d get it all if my husband didn’t already own (and love) half of the items on here. But don’t worry, he’ll be getting the other half this holiday season. (Honey, I hope this isn’t a post that you decide to read).
I am including a few big ticket items, but they are sure to get your guy fired up in the best way (and I’m not talking about any way that involves you). So they are worth the price tag. I love the Bowflex adjustable weight dumbells for your home gym. It’s the most compact way to access a variety of weights. You can get rid of that bulky weight rack and mix match dumbbells. This one piece of equipment easily adjusts from 5 pounds all the way up to 52.5 pounds per dumbbell. Bonus, they also make a kettlebell (that adjusts from 8-40 pounds), too. If you have never used these before, Tribe Main Line in Wayne has them at each station. So go get a workout in and check out my #1 fitness item on the Fitness Finds Holiday Gift Guide for the Guys.
Ok, I lied. I have another #1 fitness item on this list. See, I told you it was a good list. A list worthy of two #1 items! GolfForever is the latest at-home workout system that uses golf-specific fitness equipment and programming from top golf trainers to improve strength, flexibility and balance. GolfForever includes 1) the Swing Trainer — i.e., the equipment that can be attached anywhere to allow for a pre-game warm up or a convenient workout, and 2) the Fitness App, which includes access to over 500 instructional videos and workouts from top professionals in the industry. The program starts with a full assessment before the user is placed into a targeted, custom and individualized fitness program. The App is free for the first 30 days. And starting TODAY (Dec 4) and continuing all month long, order the Swing Trainer through golfforever.com using the code BrookeGoldstein25 and you will get $25 off the Swing Trainer plus free shipping.
I’m gifting this one to my husband early so that I can share our progress with you all. And I did say “our”. Even though I am no golfer, I plan to take the assessment and do my own specific workouts because this fitness system isn’t just for golfers. Be sure to check out my Instagram for updates. I think this is going to be the perfect solution for my husband to work on his beloved golf game while improving his overall fitness.
Ok, back to the rest of the list. All are strong runner ups.
You’ve probably seen the Normatec compression boots by now. And if you want to try them out, there are several places within any 3-mile radius that you can get them onto your legs. But I recently saw a more compact and cheaper version by the same company for just your calves. And I immediately thought of the guys. Men tend to work their calves, so they need a targeted recovery. And at a fraction of the price of the full boot, this is a great special gift item with the same “wow” factor.
In my IG survey from a few weeks back, 85% of the females polled, preferred self care products over electronics and 88% preferred jewels to gadgets (men in the audience, take note). But the guys are another story. Tech items seem to get them going way more than us girls. So I have some really good fitness related gadgets on this list. The Garmin watch is the ultimate in overall wellness tracking. In my opinion, Garmin is the best athletic watch on the market to track activity. And this version now also tracks recovery and sleep. Plus it looks so much cooler for guys then some of the other fitness trackers out there.
I also love the Bose Sport Earbuds. They fit securely and comfortably in the ear (by offering 3 sizes of tips) and will withstand all of the sweat (by being water resistant) pouring off your man when he works. Plus, like all things Bose, they provide “lifelike sound” and are sure to pump him up for that workout.
Reading is so hot so I have two books on the list. The first might just be on my list too (sans the Kanye West feature). The Ultimate Sneaker Book is a beautiful, large coffee table book that celebrates iconic footwear from the pages of Sneaker Freaker, the first and only magazine publication “at the forefront of the sneaker scene” for the last 20 years. My only complaint is that there is a section highlighting Kayne’s sneakers, which I’ll be tearing out of my copy and throwing in the trash where that man belongs! Note to the publishers: you should republish the book without that section immediately.
If your house doesn’t have a copy of A Course Called America, written by Main Liner, Tom Coyne, then it’s about time you grab this best seller. Tom’s latest book brings him home to travel through all fifty states, playing on as many of our country’s courses during a year’s time. And your man can use it to fantasize about all of the golf trips he’d want to go on if he could live life like Tom Coyne. I know my husband does that.
I see you, husband, glaring across the bathroom trying to sneak a peek at the latest remedy that I am using on my face to get rid of the I-have-young-children-and-haven’t-slept-a-full-night-since-those-angels-were-born-look that I wear so well. I found some beauty and self care products made just for the guys so your husband doesn’t have to steel your shit. With the name “Bro Mask”, he can feel manly enough to wear cooling eye gels while discussing the latest season of Emily In Paris (which, ladies, comes out next month).
Don’t forget to update your guy’s look with the pieces that are the most worn in my husband’s closet. First, anything Rhone. He tried the brand during the NSale this year and now is slowly replacing his tees, pants and jogger’s with everything Rhone. The quality, fit and style is up there with the more popular casual brands like Bonobos and Lululemon, but we like Rhone even more.
Returning to the office has been tricky on many levels. But we solved the footwear issue for my husband with Wolf & Sheppard. After spending two years working from home in sweats, it just felt wrong to have to wear those uncomfortable and stiff Ferragamo loafers again. So my husband found Wolf & Sheppard for his return. They make footwear that combines the quality and sophistication of a dress shoe with the comfort and casualness of a sneaker. My husband now owns several styles, and I don’t think he’ll ever go back. Sorry Gucci.
Well, it’s officially festive season. So I hope this list takes away some of the stress of finding the perfect gift for that special guy who contributes to your fabulousness all year long.
