NSale 2024 Active Try-On’s

I’ll be honest, I was somewhat underwhelmed by the activewear selection in the sale when I first saw the preview. Big players like Beyond Yoga and Alo have a tiny or no presence at all in the NSale this year. And I was a little upset about it. This is the time where I grab a few pieces from brands that rarely go on sale, like Alo. While there are usually pages and pages of fitness fashions, the activewear sale section is definitely smaller this year. But do not fret. Because I like to use this sale to stock up on activewear basics, I actually found some great staples that I am making room in my legging drawer for.

On that note, you probably all want to know my #1 black legging pick so let’s start there…. with these from Nike.

I love how sleek and smoothing they are. They have great compression that comfortably sucks you in without any squeezing. And I love the disappearing lines along the ankle for a seamless look. These leggings are great for the gym, but are also perfect for everyday wear- seen below with one of my favorite sweaters from Free People.

Also from Nike is my favorite sports bra from NSale pasts. I got this bra a few years ago in black, and it’s still the first sports bra that I reach for in the morning. So it’s a good idea to get it in another color, right?

Like this dusty rose that will look good under any light colored top. I love this bra because I feel secure and supported in it. There are built in foam cups- none of those flimsy removable cups that you know I hate. It’s full coverage but has a feminine sweetheart design. It’s easy to wear and has a flattering fit without any spillage. I reliably wear this bra for any and all types of workouts.

The matching leggings are more compressive than the black ones that I am loving above. So these are perfect for your high impact workouts.

Aside from Nike, another standout fitness brand for me this year is Zella. I used to breeze right over Nordstrom’s activewear line, but in recent years, Zella has made its way up to the front of the line with the other top brands. Their leggings fit and feel just as good as the really expensive ones, but with the sale, they are at least half the price! The leggings I am wearing below are only $50, and I am telling you, they feel just like the ones I spend $100+ on.

The set below made its way home with me because it’s something new and fresh. As you can imagine, I have a lot of the same old, so a mock neck crop top is about as different as it gets. Plus, it’s flattering and stylish. Like, I’ll wear this set when I hit up some classes in NYC later this summer (hehe).

And this fitness top can fill in as a great everyday top almost too easily. Look how cute with this sweat-skirt (yes, that’s a thing and you do want it).

New to the sale for the ladies this year is Travis Mathews. I was excited to see how one of my husband’s favorite golf brand’s activewear held up. And while I loved the design details and the color of this set, I have to say that I was less than impressed by the fit and the fact that these leggings did absolutely nothing for the booty.

But while we are on the subject of golf, I was excited to try two new golf looks that are part of the sale. This one below, also from Travis Mathews.

And this one from Zella. All my golf girlies should definitely add this adorable dress to their shopping carts. Whether you plan to play or just sip rose from the cart (me), this $46 dress will help you look the part.

This is a good segue into performance dresses. Active dresses are my favorite activewear subcategory in the sale this year. I’ve always been a fan of the exercise dress- not necessarily for a workout- but for days like the ones we have been having this week. When it’s hot as hell and you want to look cute and feel cool. I even wore one of my favorite exercise dresses from NSale pasts today, perfect for yet another steamy July day. But this year, the dresses from our beloved activewear brands are elevated. They are stylish, interesting and feminine. And best of all, they are made with high quality performance fabrics. These dresses all just make me smile. So let’s take a look at my favorites:

This color. The ribbed tank. And the flouncy skirt. All make this my favorite of the bunch.

The dress below is a close second. I love the off white color, the mixed fabrics and another twirly, whirly skirt.

And how great with these metallic Chucks?

I also love this one from Varley. It’s just a tad too short on my tall frame. But if you are 5’9’ or under, I’d grab this one.

So let’s talk Varley because there has never been so much from this beloved brand in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale before. If you are already a Varley fan, you know the quality is unmatched. But you typically pay for it. That’s why the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is a great time to grab a sweater or two from Varley. And here are a few I couldn’t part with (click on the picture to shop).

Decisions, decisions…

Sneakers are a really good part of the sale this year. A lot of what I had on today were fashion shoes and they are all linked directly in the photo above that they are featured in. As for running shoes, I had two favorites from the sale today.

Make sure to also check out my Instagram for all of my non-fitness finds from today. And all of my favorites from today are found in my LTK shop (size info is there, too). You can click on the pictures in this post to be directed to LTK where you will be able to add items directly onto your Nordstrom wish list so that you can shop, as soon as it’s your turn. Ambassadors can shop in just 4 hours (12 am EST). As always, if you purchase something through any of the clickable links in this post, I will receive a small commission at no cost to you. And after 12 hours chipping away at the first day of the sale, I sure hope you do :).
