Nordstrom Try- On’s is On!
I guess one could compare my 7-hour try-on session at Nordstrom today to a killer workout. I can tell you this, I’m more exhausted writing this post right now than I am after those sauna workouts that I have been sharing on Instagram! So I’m going to make this intro as quick as possible and get to the good stuff. Activewear falls into that “basics” category that is my number one recommended shopping category to conquer during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Beyond Yoga over Alo Yoga
For the past few sales, I was all over the Alo stuff. Not this year. Nothing really new and exciting from Alo (except for a jacket that I’ll get to soon). So goodbye Alo and hello Beyond Yoga. The fit. The feel. The comfort. Deciding which color to go with is the only question left.
“Cinnamon Heather” works great in the summer with that glowing skin or in the fall while you sip on some apple cider.
“Fresh Sage Heather” is my color. Unfortunately, only the bike shorts come in this color- no leggings. Fortunately, Beis has some great matching bags so all good. All linked here.
Zella All The Way
Zella is Nordstrom’s activewear brand and I wasn’t always a fan. I have seen quite a transformation from the brand in recent years though, and this year I found myself most excited about the Zella clothes I put on.
This skort set did not disappoint. It was the first thing I put on and I left with both colors!
Everything in this color is so good. My favorite leggings in the sale (see below) also come in this color.
Basic black fitness attire. You cannot go wrong. Especially with these prices.
If you add a pair of athleisure pants to your closet this year, let it be these (you have enough joggers, people!). They come in black, too.
Black Exercise Dresses
Let’s take the LBD and make it sporty. And then I’ll wear it! Each one of these picks has an updated and modern silhouette; is something different than what you already own; and makes a great everyday look even though the dresses are made of performance fabrics.
An exercise dress that isn’t stuck to your body (at least in appearance, there is a Spanx under layer here) is refreshing. Again, the theme of my favorite LBD’s is something new and different and this dress is both.
I put this dress on and had a hard time taking it off. It’s easy to wear. It’s cool- in both appearance and temperature. And it’s under $50! Love it with any type of sneaker or casual sandal.
If this dress was just a little longer, I would have left with it because it’s so fun and edgy. So for all the not-so-tall-girls, grab this adorable mesh athletic dress. I linked a few options to wear underneath it.
Favorite Basic Sports Bra and Leggings
These next two items are necessary additions to any workout wear wardrobe.
I’m not doing a great job of showing you the design details of this bra. It’s all about the straps.. Check out the picture on the website. Great job with this one, Nike. Functional and pretty.
Get these black leggings. They cost under $50 and feel just as good as the ones that cost more than $100.
Favorite Sneakers
There are a lot of great sneakers in the sale this year. Here are most of my footwear picks. But I have to give it to Nike. I had a really hard time editing the sneakers that were coming home with me and guess what, they were all Nike. With Nike sneakers, I size up a half a size. If I plan to run in the shoes, I’ll go up 1-2 full sizes.
Best “fashion” sneaker in the sale. I’m wearing these in my denim pictures below and most of my dress pictures above.
Favorite Jeans
Denim is a big one for me at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I was really excited about the jeans on my wish list but only one pair kept that excitement going— this one from Rag & Bone.
Favorite Outerwear
I put on a lot of coats, vests, blazers, and jackets and these two really stuck out for me.
I have and live in this vest in black. But I die over this gorgeous blue color.
A necessary piece for your fall closet. And it’s one of the few picks from Alo this year.
