CLUB & COURT: MY NEW FAVORITE BRAND (THAT ALSO HAPPENS TO BE LOCAL TO THE ML) FOR TENNIS AND GOLF SEASON
Around this time of year, I am always on the hunt for tennis whites. Where I play tennis, we wear tennis whites Memorial Day through Labor Day. I like to stock up now in hopes that this will be the season that I can play seven days a week.
I love tennis. Let's be honest-- I love this sport even more because it comes with cute clothes. But, the selection of fashionable tennis whites isn't always plentiful. So I was thrilled when I stumbled upon this new brand, Club & Court, while Instagram scrolling one night. I love the whole vibe of this brand. Vintage looks that pay homage to the 70's and 80's while incorporating modern style. Sporty mixed with classic, feminine designs. And almost everything is white (with Kelly green and navy accents)! Best part, the brand is local! I literally jumped out of my seat (or bed, which is where I do my best internet scrolling) when I discovered that the two founders live and play tennis here. I immediately reached out to Lara Evans, one of the founders, and met her at her home in Bryn Mawr to check out the clothes.
I tried on almost every piece from the Spring 2021 collection and I'm not going to lie-- I loved EVERY SINGLE THING I put on! Some of the dresses were a tad too short for me, but I am 5'10" so most people won't have that problem. And Lara told me they are adding a little length to some of their new dresses (yay for us tall girls!). A few of the skorts come in two lengths. What's so beautiful about Club & Court is that the pieces work so well both on and off the court.
Club & Court also makes THE BEST tennis bloomers. Unlike all of the others that I have, these do not squeeze your thighs. They are comfortable, the perfect length, and provide full coverage. Add to cart. Add to cart. Add to cart.
Overall, the clothes run true to size, maybe a tad large. I am wearing a size small in almost everything but could probably use a medium for more length in some of the dresses. Sizes are XS-L.
Check out a few of my favorites for tennis and golf, as well as the greatest dress for hanging poolside, from the first collection, Spring 2021.
This is the perfect example of what makes this brand so special. The Ashby Dress is great for tennis and great for life beyond the court. You can wear this dress on the court without looking like you just came from lunch, and you can wear this dress to lunch without looking like you came from the court.
The silhouette is very feminine and flattering. The fabric is Stretch Pique Knit and has a nice amount of stretch and movement. I love the Kelly green accents on the scoop neck and waistline.
This is the same dress in a luxuriously soft cotton.
The Maggie Dress is another example of how well these pieces transition on and off the court. The collar. The pockets. The full zip. This is such a stylish athletic piece and I am in love.
The Course Jacket and the Court Skort are made with Performance Poly, which is a very soft and functional fabric for moving around the court. The gold hardware on the jacket gives this simple athletic piece some flair.
This Lux Terry 3/4 zip shirt will be available in May and you should grab it in white AND navy (see picture below)! It's such a versatile top that I can see myself living in all summer long. On the tennis court. On the golf course. By the pool. On the beach. The list goes on. I love the design details of the waistband, the collar and the cap sleeves.
When I posted a Reel two weeks ago previewing these clothes, the Club Skirt was the most talked about piece from that Reel. Again, another stylish athletic skirt that has so many uses in sports and in life.
The best poolside dress this summer is the Jean Dress. Available in May, this Lux Terry dress is perfect over a suit or on its own.
Stylish golf pieces are not easy to come by and the Club Pullie with the Course Skort (a longer version of the white Court Skirt that I am wearing above) are functional for the avid player, or plain old cute for the avid golf spectator -- me (date nights in the summer usually include me sipping on Rose in the golf cart, while my husband shows off his skills).
To get these beauties for yourself, you can order online or visit The Main Line Co-op in Wayne to catch the end of the Club & Court trunk show, which is currently going on through the end of April. The tennis shop at Waynesborough Country Club, in Paoli, will also be carrying some pieces this spring and summer. The pro shop is open to the public every day from 9 am to 5 pm.
Be sure to follow this fabulous new brand on Instagram to check out all of their latest looks!
