June Studio Tour: Where I’m Going for the First Two Weeks

It’s days away, and I am so pumped for this June. For those of you who don’t already know about my June Studio Tour, I spend every day in June going to a different studio. That’s 30 days of 30 different workouts. I used to do my tour only on the Main Line, but last year I added Philly and the shore, and I decided to do that again. And I am even adding a fourth territory to the tour- the Philly area suburbs. I love to get this community involved so I am sharing my schedule in advance in hopes that some of you can join me along the way. I’ll share any special deals and discounts here to entice you even more to workout with me in June. Because having friendly faces in class always makes the workout better!

WEEK 1: THE MAIN LINE

Of course I am starting the tour right here on the Main Line. And I have a special workout to kick it off. I have been going to XTraining in Bryn Mawr all winter long. It’s actually one of the few places I have been consistent with because having this blog doesn’t lend itself to consistency for me. I just find this place so motivating and learned that it’s really freaking fun to lift big weights. I have gotten so much stronger because the instructors push me to go heavier, and with their guidance, I feel totally comfortable doing so. This place has taught me to lift way heavier than I ever thought I had any business doing. I hip thrusted 240 pounds this spring! While I typically go to XTraining during the week for the 5 am strength classes, June 1 falls on a Saturday, which is XTraining’s big bootcamp conditioning day. But be warned, this class is hard as shit. I featured this class in my first ever June Studio Tour and struggled. But I am stronger now and hope to keep up a little better. Classes fill up, but it is a summer weekend so there may still be spots available. If you want to join me to kick off the tour, sign up here.

I really make an effort to visit different towns and do different formats each day in June. While I’m all about trying new places, there are some studios that I already adore and had to mix in.

So here is where I’ll be the rest of the week:

On Sunday, I’ll be heading to The Bridge Hot Yoga in Narberth. I’ll be taking Vinyasa with Dave Hem, who I know from Hydroga at The W Hotel in Philly. Dave teaches an all levels Vinyasa class with a unique twist. Owner, Kaitlin is making the entire class free so sign up here!

I am actually doing a double header on Sunday but I’ll share this next workout on Monday. I’ll do this sometimes to manage my own schedule and my kids’ schedules to make June work for everyone. So I am taking a SharQui bellydance workout with Oreet on Sunday morning at 11 am at Start a Movement in Narberth. This is a special workshop with live music that I couldn’t miss. I registered for this workshop using the SweatNow app, which makes it easy to find workouts in your area. Oreet teaches bellydancing live every Monday evening at 7 pm at the JCC in Wynnewood. You can sign up for either bellydancing class using the SweatNow app.

On Tuesday, I am going to another of my favorites on the Main Line, Everfresh Yoga in Havertown. I am taking an evening hot yoga class at 6:30 pm. Join me by signing up here and if you message the studio and mention the tour, you’ll get the class for free.

For all the barre girlies out there, I am going to my favorite area barre studio, Pure Barre Main Line, on Wednesday for the Define class at 12 pm, which incorporates larger weights and is more strength focused. You can sign up here.

On Thursday, I am actually waitlisted at Club Pilates in Newtown Square. I learned that this new studio fills up fast. When I went to schedule the class, over two weeks in advance, it was already full, as were most classes. So I am planning to go to Engage in Ardmore for one of their small group personal training strength focused classes at 10 am. If you want to join me, you have to call (443) 331-4275. And if I end up getting into Pilates, I’ll just do both workouts that day— What’s one more in a month of thirty!

And to round out my first week, on Friday, I am taking the infamous Camp Carl bootcamp at La Maison at 5 pm. This is a “iykyk” kinda class and I don’t yet know… but I’ve heard. I’ve heard that it’s all about the instructor Carl Miranda. It’s a circuit style class with a mix of cardio and strength. I’ve heard that it’s a party and a great workout, too. And I’ve heard that this class gets booked fast. So I set my alarm to sign up this Friday. And you can too, here.

WEEK 2: PHILLY

A lot of these classes in Philly are too easy for you to join me— four of them happen to be special summer events and some are even free. So leave your excuses at the door, and join me on the Philadelphia leg of my tour! hehe.

I’m back at RippedPHL on Saturday morning at 8 am for a combo strength and tread class. They are offering my community some free spots in this class so message me asap at fitnessfindsonthemainline@gmail.com if you want one of those spots!

On Sunday, I am going to the grand opening event at Stretch Lab Rittenhouse Square because I figure I could use a good stretch by day nine of the tour. I’m getting a free 25 minute express stretch. You can try this new wellness spot and schedule your free stretch here.

Monday brings me to Manyuank at the popular gym, Never Give Up. I’ll be taking one of their signature turf classes called NGU Mix, which uses a bunch of fitness toys like battle ropes, TRX, kettlebells (fun!) for a full body conditioning and endurance class. Join me by signing up here.

Tuesday is one of those special summer workshops I was talking about. This one is on my favorite rooftop in the city at the Bok building. There will definitely be lots of instagramable moments here! KG Strong will be leading their summer rooftop yoga class at 6 pm and a private happy hour will follow. You can grab a spot to this fun event here. And don’t forget your mat.

And Wednesday is another special summer outdoor event, and this one is free! Join me for a mat Pilates class by Alchemy X at the Navy Yard. Bring your yoga mat and sign up here.

I am so excited to try the new functional training gym, FitStop in Northern Liberties on Thursday. I’m going to sign up for Perform (the window opens two weeks in advance). You can get a free class here.

I am finishing the week in a pretty epic (and chaotic) way. On Friday, I’ll be grabbing my furry friend for some puppy dog yoga in the parking lot of Bark Social. This is a free event and you can bring your dog, as long as he/she is on a leash. Join me and my dog, Penny, by registering here. Bring a yoga mat and help Bark Social break the world record for the most dogs in a yoga class! Spread the word!

Before I head down the shore for Week 3, I’ll still be in Philly over weekend. So I’m trying out a new studio for me, Lumos Barre. Join me on June 15 for the 9 am all levels Express Barre class. And I am trying a new class for me, Hot Recondition at one of my favorite spots, Love in Conshohocken. You can join me by signing up here. This particular class with Molly (remember I wrote this post on her) gets waitlisted pretty fast so don’t delay if you are interested in this one.

If you sign up for any of these classes, please reach out through Instagram or email to let me know to look for you in class. And I hope to see your beautiful, smiling faces in a class or two this June!
