Why is Everyone Talking About Adanola?
Why Adanola Activewear Is Taking Over: A Review of Kendall Jenner’s Collection & More
I had to find out the reason this UK brand, Adanola, seems to have taken over the fitness fashion world recently. Is it Kendall Jenner’s new campaign with the brand? Probably. I mean, have you seen how cute every single item in the collection is? Most pieces are sold out by now though... Sigh. Of course, the Kardashians make everything they touch blow up. So nice job, Adanola marketing team. Given my duty to you all, I needed to find out whether this latest fitness fashion brand is worth all the hype — without the stunning Kendall Jenner wearing it.
My first impression from viewing the pieces online is excitement. Adanola activewear looks like it may have some real staying power in a very crowded space. I love the clean, classic styling of this brand. A simple long sleeve mock neck looks so flattering with a monochromatic bike short. In all my fitness fashioning, I haven’t done that look yet. Kendall’s collection uses a lot of great neutrals like a stormy grey and a chocolate brown, as well as the most gorgeous pop of Cobalt Blue (most pieces are long gone by now). I also love the silhouettes. A form fitting tee might just be my favorite piece here. And this brand has all the laid back, cool girl vibes.
Adanola Activewear Has Real Staying Power:
As far as the activewear goes, I ordered two different styles of leggings, a long sleeve that works for exercise and everyday wear, and that fitted active tee I mentioned above. I could have done way more damage, but it was January and I was really trying to stick to those New Year’s resolutions.
The Ultimate Legging is the most popular style from Adanola. It comes in 9 core colors and 7 “seasonal” colors which are really pretty. This brand is rumored to have that snatching effect, and I’m pretty sure it’s these leggings causing the buzz. While I really like the leggings, they didn’t snatch me as much as I was expecting. But they did check all the boxes for what I look for in my leggings: squat-proof, moisture-wicking, high rise, comfortable compression, no rolling waistband, smoothing and stretchy. While they may not be as waist-snatching on me as I would like, I think these leggings do a really a nice job sculpting and smoothing the booty, so they’ll get my vote!
If you are thinking about trying this brand, don’t miss out on the Ultimate Legging. The quality is just as good (if not better IMO) as other high-end brands like Alo Yoga, but the price is almost half! These leggings are just $65, so you’re definitely getting affordable activewear that performs. Go true to size with this style. I am wearing a size small.
I also ordered the Ultimate Seam Detail Zip Pocket Legging because of the color. Oh my god, this color is so beautiful and so impactful. I love it with gray or white. But because this color is such a showstopper in Kendall’s campaign, it was sold out in my size. I bought the medium and crossed my fingers, but it doesn’t fit how I need my leggings to fit. There isn’t much left in this color now, but you may be able to get your hands on the sports bra. What I really want is the Ultimate Short Sleeve Top in the Cobalt Blue, so I put my email address on the “notify me” list.
Between the two legging styles I tried, I prefer the smoothing and compressive Ultimate Legging over the Ultimate Seam Detail Zip Pocket style. But if you are a pocket-legging girl and want to try this one from Adanola, it’s only $73!
I was so excited for the Ultimate Short Sleeve Top. I wanted it in every color for monochromatic looks with the matching leggings. This one is truly a shirt for sweating. It’s breathable, supportive, compressive, lightweight and stretchy. It also comes in an adorable zip style with a mock neck for the real sophisticated exercisers. Unfortunately for me, I’m just too broad for this style. I wish it worked for me, but it may work for you. I got the medium which is my TTS, and it fit me everywhere but in the shoulders. I could force it if I really wanted to but for $54 (which is still a decent price), I’m not going to. Remember, I am trying to be good.
I also ordered the Long Sleeve Top in Grey Melange because it is perfection with those Cobalt Blue leggings. This top is made of a stretchy cotton that makes it soft and comfortable. I love the versatility of this top— you can do some light exercising in this shirt, but you don’t need to.
Look how cute it is with the sweatpants (which I will get to shortly), and it would also look good with jeans. This top is form fitting but it has length, something we don’t see with many fitness tops lately. This shirt is $60 which is still good but not as much of a “deal” as the leggings.
Style Meets Comfort with Adanola’s Sweats:
But my favorite purchase from my haul is the Varsity Sweatpants. Adanola takes the sweat set and just does it right. Right with the branding. Right with the colors. Right with the fabrication. And really, really right with the fit. I am obsessed (and I don’t use that word as lightly as the other influencers) with these sweatpants. They are long (a win for the tall girls) and flattering — yes, I am calling sweatpants flattering. Thanks to Kendall (if she had anything to do with the design), these pants are perfect.
The matching oversized sweatshirt is equally great. Though if you're not into the super oversized look, you might want to size down. The sweatpants are $86 and the sweatshirt is $90, so they’re a bit of an investment, but you can wear these pieces beyond just lounging on the couch.
Final Thoughts:
Overall, I am giving Adanola an 8 out of 10. My high rating comes from the quality, the affordable price, the stylish designs and of course, those sweatpants! Two points are being deducted because the Cobalt Blue is sold out (as are many of the more popular items) and because that coveted fitted tee didn’t work for me. Still, Adanola activewear has definitely earned a place in my activewear drawer.
