Cute and Stylish Ladies Golf Clothes that are Appropriate for the Golf Course? Challenge Accepted!

Full disclosure, I don’t play golf. I would love to learn to play but have resigned myself to the fact that taking five hours on the golf course is just not in the cards for me right now. One day, I do hope to be able to learn the game. The game that my husband is absolutely consumed with all year long. The game that he gave up other activities, like tennis and basketball (which he was pretty good at) to devote any and all free time to. And the sport that I have seen many of my girlfriends begin to take up and start to play with each other.

I have participated in some couples golf tournaments in the past (You know, the ones where my score will never count because you keep score with the best player’s ball.). One, because my husband loves to show off his game to me (He thinks I know what the heck he is talking about. It’s cute.). Two, because my husband loves to teach me the sport (and he is actually a really good teacher. He tells me I have potential and I believe him. But I’m not sure if its just a ploy to get himself more golf time.). Three, because I enjoy an early summer evening spent on the course, riding in the cart, sipping on my rose and watching my husband in his glory. But let’s be honest, number four is the real reason I am there… the clothes!

Golf clothes can be fun yet challenging. And, I’m always up for a good challenge. Most courses have pretty strict dress codes as far as the length of the skirt and the required shirt type. Even the kind of clothes is restricted. For example, I can’t wear my tennis clothes or other activewear on the golf course. But there is a movement to make golf more accessible, so I expect to see some of these rules changing. In fact, some areas of our country have moved away from such requirements. But, around here, dress codes are pretty much still in place. So yeah, it’s a challenge to find cute and functional clothes that meet those requirements. But we now have more options than ever before. Popular activewear brands such as Lululemon and Athleta have created golf lines for the ladies recently. I love the traditional, elegant style of brands such as Tory Sport. And new onto the scene are TNuck Sport and Club & Court with the addition of a few golf pieces to their collections.

Athleta

I want to start with Athleta because I am loving the new golf options from them. And there are so many options! The colors are just so pretty. This blue is stunning and I love pairing it with this unexpected “Lunaria Yellow” skirt and visor.

Here is what I love about the Athleta golf pieces. The price. Out of all of the brands featured in this article, Athleta has the best prices, while still maintaining a high standard of quality. I also love how their golf pieces could be worn for multiple sports and not just on the course. For someone like me, who doesn’t get to play golf that often, this is key. I could wear this shirt to run, play tennis or even as a layering gym piece. It’s very versatile yet suitable for the golf course. Same with the skirt. It doesn’t scream golf so I could use it for other activities, as well.

Athleta also gives you options. Lots of options. The skirts come in a few different lengths and many different styles so that you can find the right one for your body type and in accordance with the course’s dress code. Check out some of my favorite pieces from Athleta for golf (and quite frankly, any sport, here):

Tory Sport

If you want to splurge on some gorgeous golf clothes, go with Tory Sport. The clothes are high fashion and high function. But they are so classic that you can wear them at any age, in any decade. When my husband asked me to join him on the golf course a few years ago, this was the first place I looked for clothes, and I didn’t need to look any further. I love putting on the few special items that I have from Tory Sport when we are going out on the course for a date night. They are my “Saturday night” golf pieces. I even up my jewelry game when I wear them.

I love these pants. They come in solid colors but I just adore the print. Prints are a fun way to add some personality into your golf style. These pants are super comfortable and moveable. I am wearing a size 6 in the pants but they are a little big. However, in the skort that I am wearing below, I am in the size 4 and they are a little snug. Both sizes work for me but neither is just perfect for my body.

The skort below is a total splurge because I can really only wear it for the one or two times a year that I actually play golf. But it’s so classic that I don’t feel that guilty. I know I will wear it for many years to come… including those years when I have more time for golf. I love the ruffle detail along the front and the buttons down the side.

And best part, it’s shorts!

This sweater below is gorgeous and the most versatile of the Tory Sport pieces I have. It’s performance cashmere! Yes, you heard that right. It feels like heaven, but it’s cool and moisture wicking, breathable and has stretch. I would wear this on the golf course, on the tennis court and even every day with a pair of white jeans. It’s so cute and on sale right now.

TNuck Sport

Tuckernuck added TNuck Sport to their online shop last year. I wear their leggings and sports bras for exercising often. So of course I wanted to try their clothes for golf.

Tuckernuck is another brand that adds style to the golf course. Because I am tall, not all the skirts are quite long enough for me but most people would not have an issue. This adorable skirt that I am wearing above is 16 inches in length.

And if I couldn’t wear a certain skirt on the golf course, it’s perfect for tennis. This black skirt above could be a questionable length on me. But I do think I could get away with it when paired with this black collared tank. Sticking to one color, elongates the look. My favorite part about the TNuck skirts is the print bloomers underneath.

Lululemon

It’s no surprise that Lululemon now has a wide variety women’s golf clothes. I have been buying my husband their stuff for years, so it’s about time they added more ladies items.

I absolutely love these pants. Like all things Lulu, the fit and performance quality is top notch. I paired them with this shorter length 3/4 zip because I wanted something that I could wear for my other activities. However any of the Lulu collared shirts would work well with these pants— Although the styling doesn’t excite me as much as some of the other tops featured in this post, so I’d probably pair it with another brand’s top.

I had a hard time finding a Lululemon golf skirt that was long enough for me. They do have a longer, 18 inch skirt on the website (not in the stores) and I did order it. But my order was cancelled because it was sold out in every color in my size. I was able to try on the 16 inch skirt in the store but it was really short on me. Again, I am a tall chick so not everyone would have the same trouble with the 16 inch skirt…

Club & Court

This post would not be complete without Club & Court, the Main Line’s very own tennis and lifestyle clothing company. While Club & Court may be best known for stylish and beautiful tennis clothes, they do have a few pieces that work great for golf. The Course Skort 17” is longer and perfect on the course. Oh yeah, it’s on MAJOR sale— it’s only $28 (down from $118).

Pair it with the Club Pullie, which comes in 3 colors (seen above in Navy), the gorgeous Farrah Sweater, the Course Jacket (below and one of my all time favorites- also on major sale right now in the floral print) or the stunning Dynasty Jacket and you have a feminine, classic and sporty look…. everything that Club & Court is about! The added bonus is that you can wear these tops on the tennis court, too.

With any of the clothes featured in this article, you will certainly look the part. Whether or not you can play the part, well for me, that’s a whole other story!

paid partnership with sweetgreen (scroll down for a coupon)

If you know me, you know how much I love sweetgreen. I used to drive all the way to Ardmore just for a salad! So I was thrilled when I heard that we were getting a sweetgreen in Wayne. Have you been to the new store yet? It’s open and spacious, with a clean and modern feel inside. There are more tables in this larger store than any other nearby location. So you can sit and stay for a bit without feeling the pressure of waiting diners. In fact, you may find me posted up in there working on my next blog article. But my favorite part about the new store is the outdoor seating grove for those sunny days that seem to be here to stay for a bit now.

I love sweetgreen because their salads are fresh, tasty and healthy... always! Every salad is made to order, right in front of you. There are tons of options on the menu (I have been loving the Super Green Goddess salad lately), but sometimes I just make my own. Some of my favorite ingredients to include are the spicy broccoli and the roasted sesame tofu. And the dressings are the reason I can’t stay away. The large salad is deliciously filing and the bowls make a great dinner. I love the convenience of grabbing a salad on the go using the sweetgreen app.

Go check out the new Wayne store and use this coupon. (Follow the prompts to redeem it and put it in your digital wallet on the SG app— it’s easier than it sounds. I promise!) And be sure to come say hi if you see me in there enjoying my salad. Click on the button below to redeem your coupon.
