Spring Activewear is All About the Colors

I love to do these activewear hauls at the start of the new season. I sift through all the pages and racks of my favorite activewear brands. I’m looking for pieces that are fresh and new to show you. This haul was completely driven by the gorgeous and inspiring spring hues (and one fun print… gasp). So push those blue light glasses up and make sure your wallet is close. This spring activewear haul is good and sure to get you moving, in one way or another.

As you know, Lululemon has pages and pages of tried and true styles. Yes, they give us new, great colors every season (thank you) but generally it’s the same, familiar silhouettes. I wanted to show you guys something different. I’ve never been a huge fan of mesh leggings. While they look interesting, I didn’t find the mesh great for movement. So if anyone is going to do functional mesh right, it’s gonna be Lulu. That’s why I needed to check out this set that I could only find online.

And I wasn’t at all surprised that the mesh on these leggings was totally different than what I expected mesh on leggings to be. It’s soft, not itchy. It’s stretchy, not stiff. It’s durable and not going to pull or run. And I love that the mesh design here is subtle. Of course, the ventilation factor of mesh on leggings has additional cooling benefits in the warmer temps.

The sports bra in this set also has elements of the mesh throughout the design to give it some interest. But what drew me to this sports bra is the fit. It’s excellent. It’s comfortable, while very supportive. I love the longer length. It’s called a “tank top” but it’s definitely a sports bra. And I like this amount of coverage. If you aren’t a fan of the mesh on the leggings, I’d pair this bra with the regular Wunder Train or Align leggings in the same color.

Which leads me to the goregous color of this set. Oh this color! It’s called Grape Thistle. While it’s not your typical spring time pastel, it works for spring, summer, fall or even winter. And it’s an interesting neutral. Yes, purple can be neutral when done like Grape Thistle. Check out all of the styles in this beautiful, versatile and elevated shade of purple.

I also went into the Lululemon store to sift through the displays to find something fun to share with you all. And I didn’t need to look too far. I immediately saw this print from across the mall and ran to see it up close. I’m not typically a print girl, but I love that this one is neutral. It’s chocolate brown and cream, and the pattern is reminiscent of an animal print, without actually being an animal print. And you probably don’t need me to tell you that animal print is right on trend for 2024.

A neutral top, like black or white, tones down the print and makes the whole look almost too stylish to sweat in. I also love how this print pairs with pops of color like orange, light pink or even light purple.

And you know me— I like to take my looks right from the studio to the street. Who the hell has time to shower? So just throw this sporty spring jacket on after your workout, grab this great bag that you may or may not have brought to the gym with you, and put on a great pair of stylish sunglasses like these, and you are ready for what life brings you beyond your sweat sesh.

It’s not a gym bag… or is it? It totally could be your gym bag, but it doesn’t have to be. And I love the versatility of this bag for my life.

The next set is all about this stunning shade of green … and the vest. Because everyone needs a great vest for spring.

I especially love the piping details on this set. I find the lines to be very flattering. And yes, even the ones outlining the butt. I don’t usually like those weird booty defining leggings but these are different. I mean, just look at my butt! Look at it! Would it be wrong to frame this picture and hang it in my house?

(I laugh at my own jokes).

And while we are talking about green (and not just because it’s my favorite color), shades resembling celery and pistachio are big this season. So I had to try this set from Set in the color Pistachio.

My favorite part about this set isn’t the color though. It’s the fact that Set actually does a tank top. This tank isn’t available for every color drop, but it should be. Because not every girl wants to sweat in just a sports bra. And this tank is the perfect compromise for someone who wants another option besides a sports bra or a lose fitting tank.

The tank has a built in shelf bra, but it’s not very supportive. So I’d recommend this tank for lower impact workouts or with a sports bra for the girls who need more support.

I couldn’t include a spring activewear haul without a cute tennis set. Us tennis loving girls are finally blessed to have so many adorable options now that I should probably do a tennis outfit haul all of its own (so stay tuned). But this one from Vuori is absolutely fire - and not just because of the hot color.

Vuori is having a big moment in Philly… and in my closet. The new store opened on Walnut Street last month and King of Prussia is getting a huge spot next month (mark your calendars now, the official opening date is May 24).

Spring is also a great time to get a fresh, new pair of sunnies. All of the sunglasses in this post are linked. But if you are local to the Main Line, go visit my friends at Sorella Optique and Eyecare to purchase any of these Maui Jim shades. The sisters who own the shop have the best selection of frames from top eyewear brands like Tom Ford, Krewe and Thierry Lasry.
