Snowdays with Halfdays

Well, we had the first somewhat significant snow fall only six days into 2025, so I’m feeling good about this winter. In recent years, our ski season in the Northeast has been cut short or nonexistent. So with the prospect of a snowy winter, I wanted to do a little refresh to my ski wardrobe. And whether you ski or not, Halfdays will keep you warm and cute all winter long.

Halfdays was created in 2020 in Colorado by a female, Olympic skier who was tired of the options available for women on the mountains. So she teamed up with two other women to “disrupt the male dominated outdoor industry.” And IMO they did a damn good job of making flattering, on-trend and functional clothes for the ladies in the cold. Ski is where the brand’s heart is, but guess what, they even have activewear now, too.

I’ve always found ski clothes to be quite fashionable, and that’s why I love this brand. Halfdays recognizes fashion as an important quality on the slopes, along with function and fit. You actually get all three with Halfdays (function seems to be lacking with the overpriced “fashionable” ski brands). It’s no surprise that Halfdays uses recycled, technical fabrics that are made for the woman’s body.

So let’s kick off this winter party with the base layers. I’ve been wearing a (unnamed) brand for my base layers for a while now and while their prints are cute, the fit is just not. So when I first put on the base layers from Halfdays, I was so relieved to find the fit to be just as good as the very best activewear I typically sweat in… and then some. The Sophia Legging is my new go-to winter legging. It’s compressive. It’s seamless. It’s moisture-wicking. The high-rise waist really does stay put. And I love that the ankles are reinforced for extra comfort and protection from the cold.

The Johnson Top goes with the Sophia Legging and is the same seamless, moisture wicking fabric made for 15°-60°F temperatures. Again, the fit and comfort level is so good that I plan to wear this as a regular shirt in the winter, not just under my ski clothes. The mock neck and reinforced wrists are my favorite design details. But Halfdays is all about the hues. With colors as fun as Spritz and Forget-Me-Not, I’m not missing my old base layer prints.

Throwing a jacket over your cute base layers is the perfect winter uniform. Here are a few of my favorite jackets from Halfdays:

I’m all about a monochromatic moment.

The David Convertible Jacket is oversized, quilted, lightweight, and it goes from a coat to a vest with a simple zip. The sleeves are removable! I just love multipurpose fashion — when you can get more bang for your buck. I recently found this transformation useful when I was shoveling my driveway and ditched the sleeves after my body was generating some heat from the work.

I recommend sizing up in this coat for that very oversized, on-trend look.

While the David Convertible Jacket is great for the warmer-cold days (you get me), if you want a coat for the extra cold-cold days, the Georgie Puffer Jacket is your girl. She’s cute and cropped, but long enough to keep the warmth in.

Wanna get technical about this coat? She’s made with Performance PrimaLoft Thermoplume Insulation (that’s recycled) to keep you plenty warm from -30°F to 32°F temps. She’s waterproof and has cute “storm cuffs” and a high, cozy collar.

For the skiers, the ladies at Halfdays really thought of it all. Georgie has a phone leash (you know why you need that), a helmet-friendly hood, an interior powder skirt (to keep your jacket in place while you are shredding down the mountain), a large interior beanie pocket, a pass pocket and an attached goggle wipe.

The Aston Jacket also has these inventive ski features. This coat is another one of the colder-cold day coats from Halfdays. The Aston is made for temperatures between 0°F and 40°F. And I think it’s just perfect for the slopes. It’s got all the cool-girl-on-the-mountain vibes. The chic, adjustable belt cinches the waist for the most flattering outerwear fit. And this color is so good. It’s called Oat Milk, and Halfdays has a lot of gorgeous pieces in it.

Halfdays makes shell pants, bib pants and full ski suits. But I’m a sucker for the bib pant when I ski. The Isabel Waterproof Snow Bib Overalls are flattering and adorable with the flare leg. I love how stretchy and movable the fabric is. And this pant is fleece lined to up the comfort and warmth game.

If you’ve purchased ski clothes in the past, you may be familiar with the weird sizing, especially when it comes to pants. But Halfdays makes it easy. Their clothes run true to size. So I am mostly wearing mediums. The navy Isabels above are a size medium and pull a little on my longer frame. The brown Isabels below are a large and a more comfortable fit for me.

Well, it’s absolutely freezing outside this weekend so you may be wishing the winter away right about now. I promise the warmer weather will be here before we know it. So embrace the winter while you have it, and take advantage of some cold weather activities because Halfdays has got you.
