The Main Line Just Got Some Goodness
You may have heard that the Jersey Shore’s juice and smoothie spot, Goodness Bowls, just opened in Villanova so the rest of us can get to experience their tasty treats.
What you may not know is that Goodness Bowls is so much more than bowls, smoothies and juices. Yes, they offer every kind of bowl your little heart could desire. Chose from an açaí, pitaya, green or banana base (or you don’t have to chose. You can just get a combination of any of the above). I love the fact that you can get healthy juices here instead of ones that are loaded with just sugary fruits. And the list of smoothies is more extensive than anything else on the menu. But my favorite part about this place is that I can get a quick hearty meal like oatmeal or a tartine after a workout. Sandwhiches, salads, warm savory bowls and small bites are also on the menu, making Goodness Bowls more like “goodness meals”.
You also may not be aware that Goodness Bowls is family owned by two awesome ladies. Don’t let the gorgeous space and cool retail fool you. This place is no franchise! Under the motto that goodness is a vibe, mother-daughter duo, Sue and Corrine Persichetti, created Goodness Bowls in 2019 to bring quick, healthy meals with fresh ingredients to every person visiting their shop. Corrine is the creative mind behind the menu, store decor and laugh-out-loud menu item names, most of which are musically (and personally) inspired. Villanova is the second location for these two, and we want more!
I am new to Goodness Bowls because I don’t frequent Avalon. But since the Villanova store opened a few weeks ago, I have found myself there almost every day on my way home from a workout. It’s been a challenge to find time to food shop, meal plan and cook this summer, so I love that I now have a place to go for a quick, delicious meal that is aligned with my health goals. And my kids love it, too.
Here is what I am currently loving at Goodness Bowls. Honestly, everything I have ordered from that beautifully colored menu on the wall has hit the post-workout spot!
If I am choosing a bowl, it’s probably because of the name. The “Bruce Springreen Bowl” is just delicious with a healthy green base and sweet granola, bananas, blueberries, mango, hemp hearts and honey on top. And I would order the “Kiwi, Do you Love Me” just so I could sing my order at the counter.
For juices, my post yoga glow has more times than once caused me to order “You Glow Girl”, which has carrots, apples, ginger, cucumber and mint.
It’s a little obvious that the Post-Pump is my smoothie of choice because its protein packed, but Reef Road is just as delicious as it looks.
In the mood for a savory tartine? The Chicken Salad Tartine with chicken, smashed avocado, red onions and goat cheese, topped with hot sauce, is my #1.
But if you are looking for a sweet tartine, Goodness Bowls that, too. And I recommend the Blueberry Cobbler this summer. There is whipped ricotta under all of those gorgeous, in-season blueberries and almond butter.
And you absolutely cannot go wrong with any salad, wrap or warm bowl for a healthy lunch or dinner on-the-go. Goodness Bowls is currently open until 4 pm, but they will stay open until 7 pm come September when you need a nutritious dinner or post-practice meal for the kids.
If you haven’t stopped into Goodness Bowls in Villanova yet, what the heck are you waiting for? They are located two stores down from Starbucks in the Villanova Center, right on Lancaster Avenue. Use the code “FITNESS FINDS” at checkout to get 10% off your first order. Maybe I’ll see you in there singing your order too (“just Kale Me Maybe”)!
This blog post is sponsored by Goodness Bowls. But as always, I only post about things I genuinely use and love. And that will never change.
