Microloading Might Just Be The Key To It All

Lift weight. Build muscle. Longeivity. Age better. It’s literally all I hear. You too? Maybe the algorithm is spamming me because of my age, but I am also aware that strength training is all the rage in the fitness industry right now, no matter your age. And rightfully so. Building muscles significantly lowers the risk of chronic disease, stimulates bone density, increases mobility and even improves your cognitive function. Not to get too technical here but muscle mass stores glucose and helps regulate blood sugar levels, reducing the risk of health issues related to poor metabolic health. The takeaway is pretty significant. Having more muscles will indeed help you live longer and live better…and you’re gonna look pretty hot living that long life.

So I am doing all the things. The things right now to keep me feeling my best as I continue through my forties. One of the easiest ways to do this is to lift weights. Obviously. But I also want to continue the activities that I enjoy, like running — and I want to make it more productive and more beneficial for me in the long run. I have recently started adding weights to my body in one form or another when I run or walk. You too? (I see you ladies out there on the Radnor Trail). And I am doing this in the most comfortable, best looking way possible… with Omorpho.

I’m rocking the sleek G-Vest from Omorpho.

And I am wearing the G-Wear leggings and crop tank from Omorpho.

Omorpho’s wearable weight products build endurance, tone muscles, burn calories, and increase overall muscle and bone strength. Omorpho is doing this differently though. They aren’t having you strap on an extra 20 pounds when you go for a walk. Nope. Their G-Vests add only 3 and 5 pounds for women and 6 and 10 pounds for men. The G-Wear only adds 0.5-2.4 pounds to your body when you wear the Omorpho clothes. This is called “microloading.” Microloading is the addition of small amounts of weights distributed over the muscles that are moving. This additional weight challenges the active muscles. But by keeping the weight light and distributed across the body, there is no interference with your natural motions and you can move at nearly the same speed and intensity. The result over time is more efficient and productive workouts. And I just love when I can be efficient cause this mama’s got a long list of stuff to do.

Omorpho isn’t just worn on runs or walks. These products can be added to any bodyweight workout or dynamic movement. Because the weight is so light, you can really do anything in Omorpho, even yoga! I haven’t yet ventured into the weird world of wearing a weighted vest on errands, but I suppose anything is possible…

In addition to microloading, Omorpho is doing things differently with the design and fit of their vests. First off, the men’s and women’s vests are made differently- the weight is distributed differently. And that’s because of anatomy. The G-Vest for women is engineered to perfectly fit the female body. Additionally, the user can easily make fit adjustments to the vests above the shoulders and with the laces along the sides. Due to these design details and the small amount of weight, the G-Vest is by far the most comfortable weighted vest I’ve tried. The Omorpho vests are also pretty easy to spot clean. I’ve already had to remove some dirt from one of my kids stomping over my vest in the car (insert eye roll).

Lately, I’ve been wearing the G-Vest when I run and walk. The additional 5 pounds is definitely noticeable, but I don’t need to adjust the distance of my run in this vest. A better option for running though would be the G-Vest Sport, which only adds 3 pounds for women. This vest is meant to be worn with cardio so that you can train at full speed without noticing much difference at all. The same applies for the men’s vests- the Men’s G-Vest (10 pounds) and the Men’s G-Vest Sport (6 pounds).

I’ve also been using the Women’s Omorpho G-Wear when I run. The collection includes the leggings (1 pound), the long sleeve (1.8 pounds), the tank (0.6 pounds) and the crop tank (0.5 pounds). Again, the microloading technology used to create these clothes doesn’t change how I exercise in them but helps produce better results. The Men’s G-Wear collection includes a 2-in-1 short (1.5 pounds), the tee (1.6 pounds) and the long sleeve (2.4 pounds).

These clothes would make great gifts this holiday season for the girl or guy who is committed to making small adjustments to live a better life. I plan to load up my husbands workout wear with these pieces from Omorpho because the bulky 20 pound vest he bought on Amazon just isn’t cutting it (That thing hasn’t left his mudroom cubby since he bought it months ago). So if you want to microload your workouts too, you can get any of the Omorpho goodies for 15% off with my code FITNESSFINDS (the bundles are excluded from this promo because they are already majorly discounted).
